David A. Stacey was the first strength and conditioning coach in the history of Bowling Green State University hockey. Part of the 1984 National Championship team, he spent 2 years working for Jerry York, currently the winningest coach in college hockey history. 8 players trained by David played in the National Hockey League.
David is a 4-time New York State and 1-time World Champion powerlifter. He has held 16 state and 4 world records in 3 weight classes. A passionate believer in the value of exercise, David believes that everyone can benefit from being stronger. “The goal of strength training for an athlete isn’t to make them a better weightlifter, it’s to make them better at their chosen sport. The same is true for the general population. We aren’t looking to create world class athletes, we’re looking to have people move more efficiently and have higher quality activities of daily living.”
David is an NASM Certified Personal Trainer and NASM Certified Performance Enhancement Specialist. “When I coach people, I emphasize the positive and focus on their goals. Whatever it is, my job is to help you achieve it. We get one life, so create the best version of you possible.” He lives with his wife Amy in Orchard Park, NY.
