Use it or Lose it!
In life, when it comes to movement, flexibility and mobility, and strength and functional capacity, you either have to use it or lose it. For example, if you stop squatting, you will lose the ability to squat. If you stop climbing trees, you will lose the ability to climb trees. If you stop sprinting, walking, or moving, you will lose the ability to do those too. So you really have to use it or you will lose it. It’s the law of human movement.
Rest = Rust.
Conceptually, if you don’t move, you will rest. It’s been proven through MRI scans. Your joints will stiffen and lose their flexibility and mobility. They will become tight, and you will lose range of motion. For example, if you never reach your hands over your head, you may very well lose the ability to reach overhead or to change a lightbulb or pull out a glass or dish on a higher cabinet.
Motion is lotion.
When we move, we pump blood from our toenails all the way up to our fingernails and throughout our whole body. Pumping blood throughout your whole body cannot be underestimated. It’s magic, like a miracle. Simply flushing your body with blood is so good for you and your muscles and joints.
